Civic Engagement
Woori Center leads year-round civic engagement efforts to empower Korean and Asian Americans across the state of Pennsylvania. Woori Center has joined local and statewide coalitions and carries out its civic engagement activities as a coordinated effort within the broader context of AAPI communities and communities of color in Pennsylvania.
2025 Civic Engagement
In 2025, Woori Center not only maintained its core civic engagement work but also launched a first-of-its-kind civic education initiative at daycare centers, empowering a broader audience with the knowledge to become civically engaged.

We advanced civic participation through extensive voter engagement, making 41,543 calls, knocking on 3,020 doors, and sending 16,146 texts to Korean and Asian American voters.

We distributed 1,700 election brochures, translated and published 12 non-partisan articles on the 2025 elections in Korean ethnic media, and hosted two civic education sessions for more than 150 seniors.

Through outreach at campuses, Asian grocery stores, senior apartments, and community events, we registered 126 new voters.

Woori Center co-hosted a Lansdale Borough candidate forum at North Penn Mosque with local partners, drawing over 60 community members to engage directly with candidates on key local issues.
This internship enabled me to appreciate the power of grassroots efforts. I feel that society as a whole focuses on large-scale impact, but Woori has taught me to celebrate and strive for individual-level impact because they can make the process even more rewarding.

2023 & 2024 Civic Engagement Intern
By volunteering in Woori Center's voter registration program, I wanted to help the Asian community, as a minority group, participate in democracy, raise their voices, protect their rights, and break down the barriers ahead of us. Woori Center not only advocates for the voices of immigrants in American society but also plays the role of a vital 'connector' between generations.
